Oxlade, Nigerian recording artiste, has revealed that he learned how to properly compose music from his colleague, Fireboy DML.

The ‘Kulusa’ crooner explained that Fireboy mentoring him at the initial stages of his career was life-changing.

He also claimed that Fireboy’s penmanship is unmatched in the Nigerian music industry.

“When it comes to pen game, nobody is touching him [Fireboy]. I learnt how to properly compose music from Fireboy. He was miles ahead.

“He was part of my transition into making proper music before I started doing my own thing. He putting me on was life-changing,” Oxlade stated during a recent livestream with popular streamer, Shank Comics.

Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, known professionally as Oxlade, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter signed to Troniq Music, Epic Records in France, and Columbia Records in the UK. He rose to prominence with the release of the song “Away”, which appeared on Rolling Stone’s 50 best songs of 2020.
