Social media personality Oyemkke has weighed in on the growing controversy surrounding South African singer Tyla’s proposed performance in Nigeria, cautioning against calls to stop the Grammy-winning star from entering the country.
His comments come amid heated reactions following reports that Nigerian singer Ayra Starr’s scheduled concert in South Africa was cancelled after she and members of her team were allegedly denied visas.
The incident sparked outrage online, with reality TV star Pere Egbi among those urging the Nigeria Immigration Service to deny Tyla and her team entry into the country in what he described as a reciprocal response.

Reacting to the debate, Oyemkke argued that preventing Tyla from performing in Nigeria could have unintended consequences for millions of Nigerians living, working and running businesses in South Africa.
According to him, while Nigerians have every right to express their displeasure over the treatment of their compatriots, calling for Tyla to be barred from entering Nigeria may only worsen tensions between citizens of both countries.
Instead, he suggested that those who oppose the singer’s visit should simply boycott her concert by refusing to purchase tickets or attend the event, rather than demanding that authorities deny her entry.
