Veteran Nollywood actor PA James with his real name Kayode Sohinde, a long-time member of the iconic Papa Ajasco & Company cast produced by Wale Adenuga Productions, has publicly countered recent complaints made by his colleague, Papa Ajasco regarding poor treatment and financial struggles during their time on the popular comedy series.
In a fresh statement, PA James described the CEO, Wale Adenuga, as someone who has “always treated him well” and emphasised that the production house has never owed any of its actors salaries.
He went further to reveal that he personally purchased a car using money earned from his work with the company, directly challenging the narrative of financial hardship.

PA James attributed Papa Ajasco’s limited earnings to the irregular nature of call-ups for shoots. “They are not called for production regularly, and one cannot depend solely on the Papa Ajasco series for income,” he explained.
According to him, the show’s production schedule does not provide consistent work for cast members, making it unrealistic to rely on it as a sole source of livelihood.
The comments come just days after Papa Ajasco voiced grievances about inadequate remuneration, lack of personal benefits such as a car, and feeling undervalued despite years of dedication to the brand that made him a household name across Nigeria.
