Nollywood actress and YouTuber Papaya Ex (real name Abike) has launched a fierce defence after social media users accused her of lying about her manager deleting her movie Spotlight.
The controversy began when several netizens claimed the sudden disappearance of the film from her YouTube channel was a deliberate publicity stunt.
Some suggested she deleted it herself to create drama and boost engagement, while others alleged she had already collected views money and planned to re-upload the same movie for a second payday.

Papaya Ex has been responding aggressively to the claims. In one reply she rejected the idea that a painful situation could be used for promotion, noting that once a video is deleted, re-uploading it on the same channel risks permanent takedown.
To critics who said the manager story was false, she issued strong curses, declaring: “May you be sad forever if you intend to use my matter for clout… you’ll work and all will crumble right in your face. Amin, only if I am lying.”
She also labelled one commenter a “clout animal” and wished everlasting sadness and fruitless hard work on those she believes are exploiting her situation.
The actress continues to insist the deletion was genuine and not staged for content.
