Popular Nigerian musician,Paul Okoye and his wife, Anita, have officially divorced at an High Court in Abuja, Maitama.
The couple have officially ended their right years of marriage with Anita filing for a divorce against some non-satisfactions. She stated the reasons to be infidelity, being a fraud and an absent parent amongst other things against Paul Okoye.
Anita had earlier accused Paul of cheating her out of a real to build a mall to be jointly owned which she had paid N10 million for. The petition stated,
“That I know as a fact that the Petitioner founded a company called TannkCo in 2019. That the Petitioner and the Respondent agreed to build a mall where TannkCo would have its main offices, and the Petitioner contributed N10,000,000.00 (Ten Million Naira) for the purchase of the land and the building of the mall. That I know as a fact that the Respondent, upon completion of the mall, reneged on the agreement and failed to give TannkCo a space in the mall.”
However, Anita had allegedly failed to prove her claims which she resulted to drop them and settle.
As divorce settlement, Anita Okoye asked for a $20,000 monthly settlement together with many of Paul’s houses. The court has issued a decision and awarded the couple shared custody of their children. Anita did not receive any financial compensation for the settlement or alimony.
Anita and Paul Okoye had three children during their marriage together. Andre Okoye, first born, and twins, Nathan and Nadia Okoye.
