TikTok creator Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller, and his associate, Bello Oladipo, were granted ₦500,000 bail by a Lagos Magistrate’s Court after being charged with obstructing police officers during an operation.

The court approved bail for both men after they pleaded not guilty to the charges brought by the Lagos State Police Command.

They were told to provide two sureties, one of whom must be a blood relative.

The court also asked them to show tax clearance documents for the past two years before their bail could be finalised.

The case was postponed until August 11 for another hearing.

Linda Ikeji reported that the charges came after an incident on July 2 along Coastal Road in Lekki, Lagos. Police officers reportedly stopped Peller because his vehicle was allegedly being driven without number plates.

Peller reportedly told the officers the car was newly bought, but they still asked him to come with them to the station.

Things became tense when the content creator started recording the encounter on his phone.

Later, the TikTok personality accused the officers of acting aggressively, but the police command denied this and filed charges against him and his associate.

Both men are accused of resisting police, stopping officers from doing their jobs, and behaving in a way that could disturb public peace.
