P-Square’s music career has been a rollercoaster ride, with the duo initially splitting in 2017 due to creative differences and accusations of mismanagement. They briefly reunited in 2021 but ultimately parted ways again in August 2024. Both brothers have confirmed the split and are now focused on their solo careers.

The reasons behind their split are multifaceted as Peter and Paul Okoye had different visions for their music, leading to tension and disagreements. However, Paul accused their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, of diverting joint funds, contributing to the tension between the twins and family.

As a solo artist, Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P, has been actively pursuing his music career, releasing singles like ‘Cool It Down, Ebeano, and Follow My Lead (featuring Wande Coal)’. He has also ventured into entrepreneurship, founding his record label, PClassic Label, and exploring other business opportunities.

Peter Okoye in a past post, claims to earn more as a solo artist than he did during his time with P-Square. In a recent statement, he emphasised that his solo career has brought him greater financial success and personal peace, stating, “I now earn more on my own as a solo artiste than what I used to earn after splitting three ways as Psquare, plus the so-called manager”.
