Rwanda’s National Police have cautioned a Nigerian TikToker, Joe Bassey, after he shared a video of himself eating on a public road.
The content creator, known as Typical African on social media, posted a clip showing himself sitting and eating directly on the bare floor of an expressway in Kigali.
He titled the video, “Kigali, Rwanda is Africa’s cleanest city.”

In the video, he praised the country’s cleanliness, saying, “Come to Rwanda. Everywhere is clean. Rwanda is the cleanest country in the whole world. I can eat anywhere and sleep anywhere.

Reacting to the video, the Rwanda National Police warned that filming on roadways is unsafe and violates traffic regulations.

“Hello. While we appreciate the good intentions behind this clip, recording content in the roadway is unsafe and violates road safety regulations, as it puts road users at risk. For everyone’s safety, we advise that filming be done in safe areas. Thank you,” the statement read.
