The Ogun State Police Command is reportedly preparing to arrest and prosecute a TikTok user identified as Mirabel following an alleged admission that her earlier rape accusation was untrue.
The development has stirred renewed debate online, coming after a viral audio recording surfaced on social media.
According to reports, Mirabel was heard in a phone conversation with social media commentator VeryDarkMan, apologising and acknowledging that parts of her original allegation were false. The audio clip quickly gained traction across social platforms, prompting authorities to intensify their review of the case.

A police source disclosed that officers have been closely monitoring the situation and plan to take Mirabel into custody once she is discharged from the hospital where she is currently receiving medical treatment. Earlier, she had claimed on TikTok that an unknown man forced his way into her apartment in the Ogijo area of Ogun State and assaulted her, an allegation that triggered widespread outrage and concern.
Responding to the latest developments, police spokesperson Omolola Odutola confirmed that the command is examining all available information and will release an official statement in due course. The case continues to attract significant public attention as investigations progress.
