Police Reacts As Firstbank MD Gets Mystery Parcel With Bullets

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police has disclosed that the Managing Director of First Bank, Oluwasegun Alebiosu received an envelope containing two live bull£ts at his residence.

The parcel was delivered by a dispatch rider and initially received by security personnel at the residence. It was later handed to Alebiosu as it was addressed directly to him and marked “confidential”

According to the police commissioner, Alebiosu alerted security agencies after a parcel received on his behalf by a gateman was opened and found to contain two rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition.

Fatai said detectives immediately commenced investigations upon receiving the report and have since been working to determine the package’s source and the motive for its delivery.

“The managing director reported the matter to the police after discovering two rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition in a parcel collected on his behalf,” the police boss said.

The case is still under investigation, and we are treating it with the seriousness it deserves.”

The commissioner said investigators were examining various angles, including whether the parcel was intended as a threat or linked to any criminal activity.

He disclosed that detectives were pursuing several leads and analysing information provided by the complainant.

According to him, the bank chief had identified individuals he believed might possess useful information to assist investigators.

“Detectives are working to determine the origin of the parcel, identify those responsible and establish whether the incident was intended as a threat or linked to any criminal activity,” he said.

Fatai stated that no arrests had been made in connection with the incident.
