
Ibrahim Sadau, father of Rahama Sadau, the Kannywood actress, has passed away.
The 31-year-old via her verified Instagram page on Sunday, announced the sad news to the general public.
She shared a solemn post that read “Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun” three times, an Islamic phrase meaning “from Allah we came and to Him we shall return.”
In the caption, she wrote in Hausa: “ALLAH YAYI WA MAHAIFINA RASUWA…,” which translates to “My father is dead…”

Following the announcement, fans and well wishers flooded the comment section of the post with condolence messages as they sympathised with her and prayed for her father’s soul.
Ali Nuhu, Kannywood actor and Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) boss posted a condolence message on Instagram alongside a photo of the late Ibrahim Sadau and Rahama.
“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un,” Ali Nuhu wrote.
“Allah has called Alhaji Ibrahim Sadau, the father of @rahamasadau, to rest.
May Allah forgive him and have mercy on him, and may death be a relief for him.
May Allah grant his family and loved ones patience and strength to bear the loss. Ameen.”
Rahama Sadau, a well-known actress in both Nollywood and Kannywood, was born and raised in Kaduna. She is one of the most recognizable faces in Northern Nigerian cinema, having featured in numerous English and Hausa-language films.
