Pretty Mike Triumphantly Reopens Proxy Nightclub After NDLEA Raid and Court Battle

Pretty Mike

Lagos socialite and nightlife entrepreneur Mike Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, has officially reopened his embattled Proxy Nightclub in Victoria Island after months of closure following a high-profile NDLEA raid.

Announcing the reopening, Pretty Mike expressed gratitude to supporters and his legal team, describing the episode as a significant challenge that tested his resilience in the entertainment business.

Recall that the club, located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, was raided in the early hours of October 26, 2025, by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency. Over 100 guests, including Pretty Mike and his club manager, were arrested amid allegations of a drug-themed party.

The NDLEA operatives reportedly recovered large quantities of nitrous oxide (laughing gas), cannabis, and other substances from the premises.

Pretty Mike and others were arraigned on drug-related charges, pleaded not guilty, and were granted bail. The agency subsequently secured an interim forfeiture order on the club and filed appeals to prevent its reopening.

However, in January 2026, the Federal High Court in Lagos dismissed NDLEA’s application to halt operations, ruling that the agency failed to provide substantial grounds to keep the venue sealed. The court ordered the club unsealed pending the outcome of the main case.

The stylish socialite, known for his flamboyant lifestyle and controversial public appearances, assured patrons that the club would return stronger with enhanced security and compliance measures.
