Popular Lagos socialite and businessman, Prettymike, has shared an emotional message following the death of his father.
In a recent video posted on Instagram, he spoke about his personal loss and used the opportunity to call for peace, forgiveness, and an end to the rising trend of promoting negativity on social media.

He condemned what he described as the “aura for aura” culture, where people encourage revenge and negative energy in response to being wronged.
“There’s this slogan going around that encourages bad energy. It promotes revenge and retaliation,” he said. “But true strength lies in love, patience, and wisdom, not retaliation.”
Speaking about his late father, Prettymike described him as a peaceful man who taught him the value of love and rising above hate.
“I lost my father a couple of months ago. He was a man who instilled a lot of love in me. He always encouraged peace,” he said. “I rarely speak about my personal life online, but I needed to put this out.”
He urged people not to return hate for hate, stressing that mercy should be chosen over bitterness.
“I’m not saying you have to be friends with everyone. But let’s not feed darkness. Let’s choose light. Let’s choose mercy over hate,” he added.
Prettymike concluded the video with a tribute to his father:
“Dad, I miss you. I love you. And I hope this message reaches at least one person.”
