Faux Activist: Nigerians Come For Burna Boy, Others

Renowned Nigerian musician, Burna Boy, was dragged for featuring in the promo video for Seyi Tinubu’s 40th birthday. Although other notable names were in the video, Nigerians frowned at Burna’s appearance because he has often preached pan-Africanism ideologies and has claimed to be a social activist. However, netizens are beginning to drag him for going against his own beliefs. Some commentators and pundits on the microblogging site X stated that his personal life doesn’t align with the ideologies that he portrays via his music.
Some commentators have suggested that he is a “hypocrite” and a “sell-out” for failing to align with his musical views.
