In a move aimed at promoting responsible behavior and respect for the national currency, Nigerian businessman E-Money has taken to his Instagram page to urge Nigerians to stop spraying Naira notes at parties and events as the practice is not only against the law but also disrespects the Naira.
The call comes after E-Money’s recent arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly spraying United States dollars at an event. Despite his recent brush with the law, E-Money emphasized the importance of respecting the national currency, stating, “The EFCC reminds us that spraying Naira (or any currency) at parties or events is against the law! Let’s celebrate responsibly and avoid fines. Respect our currency!”

E-Money advised individuals who wish to give money at parties to place it in a basket, bowl, or container in front of the person being honored, rather than spraying it. “If you must give money at a party, make sure you put it in a basket, bowl, or box in front of the person at the party. Don’t drop any currency on the floor. The EFCC advises this. Ignorance is not going to be an excuse. Let us be aware and abide by the rules since it’s the law of the land”.
Reacting to the arrest early this week, Cubana Chief Priest showed support for E-Money assuring him that he would come out stronger. “I know they will come for you because of your strength, and they are trying to break you,” he said.
However, Okon Lagos questioned the actions of the anti-graft agency, suggesting that they should prioritize prosecuting corrupt leaders who ruin the economy rather than focusing on individuals who abuse the currency. “What would be wrong if E-Money abused the dollar on Nigerian soil? The dollar abuses the Naira every day,” he said.
