
Ruger, a Nigerian recording artiste has mentioned that he gave his first benefit from music to the church.
According to the singer-songwriter, whose real name is Michael Adebayo Olayinka, he gave the sum of N500,000 to the church after he earned it for his performance.
“I didn’t use it,” Ruger said during an interview with VJ Adams. “I gave everything to the church. And the next payment was like a million — I was so happy, buying parfaits and stuff. Then, millions more came within a year.”

The singer also spoke on how money has shaped his mindset and approach to life.
“Money changes everybody, don’t mind what others say,” he added. “A lot of things change when you start making money. The way you address things and approach life becomes different.”

According to him, the goal is to have the kind of money that allows you to move in silence, just like Jay Z.
“Some people are so rich they don’t stress at all. That’s the point I want to get to. You see, Jay Z? No matter how many times he’s called out, he never speaks. That’s the kind of money I want.”
Michael Adebayo Olayinka, known professionally as Ruger, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and performing artist. He rose to fame with the release of his song “Bounce“, which led him to sign a recording deal with Jonzing World in 2021. That same year, he released his debut extended play, Pandemic.
