Big Brother Naija star, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor widely known as Phyna is facing backlash from netizens after comparing the handling of Anthony Joshua’s recent car accident to the tragic incident involving her late sister, Ruth Otabor.
She wrote: “Nigeria is dead💔. RIP to the dead.
So Anthony Joshua was flown out immediately, but Dangote kept my sister for 21 days saying she needed a certificate to fly, Nigeria is dead.
Dangote is a killer and employ underage drivers. They manipulated the gullible family members. 🇳🇬DUNGEON(SIC)”

The BBNaija star younger sister and a fresh Auchi Polytechnic graduate, was struck by a truck reportedly belonging to the Dangote Group on August 13, 2025, near Auchi, Edo State.
She suffered life-threatening injuries, including the amputation of one leg. Phyna repeatedly accused the company of negligence, delaying proper care, shielding the driver, and imposing bureaucratic hurdles — including an alleged requirement for a “certificate” — that prevented Ruth from being flown abroad for advanced treatment. Despite Dangote’s public claims of covering medical bills and offering support, Ruth passed away on August 31, 2025, after weeks of struggle.
Netizens, however took to social media to knock the grieving sister that both incidents are different as one can make decision himself and has the financial capability. Here are some of the reactions from her comparison post:

Edo-wizard said: “What are you saying? Anthony Joshua flew himself out, he didn’t come with one way ticket to Nigeria, he is a star that can afford to fly out anytime. Don’t even compare this Anthony Joshua’s scenario to that of your sister. If you are such a big star or A-list star, you won’t need Dangote to fly your sister out for treatment, you’ll do that yourself and wait for dangote in court later. RIP to your sister.”
