Popular Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has taken to social media to apologize to Nigerians for saying that the country is safer now than it was ten years ago.
Recall that Seyi Law, during a recent appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast, credited President Bola Tinubu’s administration with improving security and reducing crime across the country.
The comedian cum government aide maintained that the Tinubu-led administration has caught more bandits and neutralised terrorists than the previous administrations of Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari.
He also mentioned that bomb attacks are reported less often now and that violent incidents have gone down in recent years.
The comedian’s remark sparked outrage with some people describing it as insensitive, especially to victims of kidnapping and other security issues.
In response to the criticism online, Seyi posted a video on Instagram where he admitted his remark was insensitive and apologised.
He said, “My fellow Nigerians, I owe you this and more. You don’t deserve to have your sleep snatched away from you and the pain of one should be the pain of all.
