Seyi Sodimu Praises Wande Coal’s Talent

Seyi Sodimu, a veteran Nigerian singer and songwriter, has heaped praise on Wande Coal Nigerian artiste, calling him the most talented Nigerian Afrobeats artist.

In a recent interview with Teju Babyface, Sodimu expressed his admiration for Wande Coal’s skills, citing his influence on a generation of artists.

Sodimu credited Wande Coal with evolving the sound of Afrobeats from the early 2000s to its current form. He noted that Wande Coal’s style has inspired many notable artists, including Wizkid, Davido, and Sean Tizzle. According to Sodimu, Wande Coal’s contributions to the genre are undeniable, and his talent is evident in his ability to sing and write music.

His words: ”Wande coal was one of the pivotal moments was where he switched it to the new generation where he influenced people like wizkid, davido, Sean tizzle. It was Wande coal’s style that took it from that 2001. Wande coal actually took it up to the level where you now have that sound.”

Sodimu, who has had the opportunity to work with Wande Coal, believes that the artist is operating at a fraction of his potential. He claimed that if Wande Coal were to tap into his full potential, he would be unstoppable. “I’m older that Wande and I know he’s actually operating on 30% and he’s still kicking a**. Imagine him operating on 78%. Wande is a genius, he can sing, he writes”, Sodimu testified.

When asked if Wande Coal was getting the recognition he deserves, Sodimu replied that the artist’s music is widely loved and appreciated. He noted that even other artists, including Burna Boy, have a deep respect for Wande Coal’s talent and contributions to the genre.
