President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu has reportedly unfollowed content creator Mitchell Mukoro, known as King Mitchy, on Instagram, amid her ongoing dispute with Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.
The development surfaced on Saturday, after blogger Tunde Ednut shared a post on Instagram indicating that Mr Tinubu was no longer following the influencer.
Checks by social media users also indicated that the president’s son did not appear on King Mitchy’s followers list.
The controversy started after King Mitchy publicly called out activist VeryDarkMan, aka VDM, for alleged delays in using NGO funds for school renovations, boasting she could complete similar projects faster and challenging him directly.
“I have never seen anyone with integrity explain everyday that he/she has integrity. I did this in six days to show you how easy it is if you truly want to do something,” she wrote.
VDM fired back, labelling her attacks unprovoked, accusing her of being a political tool linking her to figures like Seyi Tinubu and questioning her authenticity. The beef involved leaked chats, account takedowns and insult videos.
“@Seyitinubu YOUR FATHER FIRST 4years failed so bad that ministry of education stopped working, so you need mitchy to renovate schools… THAT POLITICAL TOOL YOU PEOPLE KEPT UNDER THE DEPARTMENT OF D and charity,” he wrote.
On February 28, 2026, the how scenario took a dramatic turn after King Mitchy’s management posted on Instagram claiming she had passed away at Prime Care Hospital in Abuja after a critical condition allegedly from ingesting “Hypo” (bleach) during a TikTok Live amid the whole backlash.
The announcement was greeted with a larger percentage of humour than empathy, and VDM’s satirical “I’m dead too” response.
The hospital has, however, debunked the claim, calling it false and has vowed to take legal action.
