This marks Shakira’s highly anticipated return to World Cup music. Her previous contributions became cultural phenomena: the 2010 South Africa anthem “Waka Waka— This Time for Africa” featuring Freshlyground, remains one of the most successful World Cup songs ever, with billions of streams and views. It fused Cameroonian makossa influences with infectious pop, turning it into a global party staple.

With the new anthem on it way, Dai Dai —meaning “Come on! Let’s go!”, looks like it will break Shakira’s 2010 Waka Waka records as the teaser has set the stakes high in ears of fans.
