Somtomchukwu Okafor, one of the sons of late Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has publicly accused the actor’s wife of taking control of properties allegedly left behind for all of his children.
In a recent statement that has generated reactions online, Somtomchukwu claimed that his late father acquired numerous properties during his lifetime with the intention of providing for all his children.
However, he alleged that those assets have now been taken over by the actor’s wife and her children, leaving others excluded from what he believes should have been a shared inheritance.
According to him, the situation has become increasingly troubling, prompting him to speak out publicly.
He expressed disappointment over what he described as the unfair handling of his father’s estate following the veteran actor’s death.
He said: “My late father left a lot of properties for all his children, but his wife chose to take everything for herself and her own children.”
He further claimed that one of the properties involved was a house located in Lagos, which he said was sold without the knowledge or involvement of other children of the late actor.
He continued: “Her actions are becoming something else. My father left many properties for all of us, yet she took control of everything. She even sold my father’s house in Lagos for ₦60 million without reaching out to any of his children.”
