The legal team of Big Brother Naija star Segun “Sheggz” Olusemo has formally responded to claims made by Bella’s lawyers, rejecting allegations of breach of promise to marry and demanding the immediate removal of a leaked confidential letter.
In a letter dated 26 August 2026, Dayo Ogunjebe & Co stated that Sheggz initially intended to marry Bella but the relationship later became strained due to persistent disagreements, what he described as disrespectful conduct, and pressure from members of her family, including her sister Sandra Okagbue and mother Irene Okagbue.
The lawyers maintained that Sheggz was the principal financial provider throughout the approximately three-and-a-half-year relationship, contributing about 75 per cent of expenses.
They listed substantial spending that included over ₦100 million on accommodation in Ikoyi, a ₦7 million short-term rental after Bella left the Big Brother house, luxury gifts such as designer bags, 24-carat gold jewellery and a Rolex, several vehicles in Lagos and the UK, and more than £220,000 spent during their stays in the United Kingdom.

Sheggz’s team denied obtaining any loans from Bella by false pretence, insisting the money and items exchanged were mutual contributions within the relationship. They also rejected claims of cyberstalking, describing the legal correspondence as proper notice and one accidental video call as an inadvertent error.
The letter criticised the publication of the earlier confidential correspondence on the Instagram page of @Cutie_Juls and demanded its removal within 24 hours, an unreserved public apology from both Bella and the blogger, and damages of ₦500 million from Bella and ₦100 million from the page administrator.
