Emotional scenes have unfolded during the final burial rites for Bunmi Akinnaanu (Omije Ojumi), who passed away in January 2026 after a prolonged illness.
A viral video circulating on X and Instagram shows Gospel singer’s son confronting and denying his biological father entry or access to the ceremony.

According to reports, the son accused his father of abandoning the family during their mother’s severe health struggles and throughout their upbringing. The children reportedly grew up relying entirely on their mother’s support, with no paternal involvement.

In one clip, the son is heard expressing resentment over the father’s absence during “mummy’s travail” — a period of intense hardship when Bunmi battled illness while single-handedly raising her children.
Additional footage shows the children speaking to their father on the phone of which the father allegedly claimed he was previously threatened with arrest by their mother if he tried to see them, even at school.
Recall that initial arrangements by gospel industry colleagues were cancelled due to unresolved internal disputes, including clarifications from the family denying fundraising pleas.
