Popular Nigerian music executive and artist manager, Soso Soberekon, has stirred up excitement on social media after announcing a massive ₦120 million cash prize to stage a celebrity boxing showdown between controversial singer Portable and outspoken activist VeryDarkMan.
Soberekon, known for his deep involvement in the Nigerian entertainment industry and for managing several top-tier artists over the years, made the proposal on his Instagram page on Sunday afternoon, July 27, in reaction to the escalating online feud between the two entertainment personalities.
The music executive, who often comments on trending social issues, decided to leverage the ongoing online war of words between Portable and VeryDarkMan to propose what he described as a win-win solution for both parties, and their fans.
“The street’s most talked-about voices… now let your fists do the talking,” Soberekon wrote. “No more talk! Let’s turn this online cruise into real-life bruises!”
In what he tagged as an “Official Boxing Match Proposal”, Soso disclosed that he was willing to stake a whopping N120 million to make the fight happen. According to the breakdown, the winner of the match will walk away with N100 million. At the same time, the loser will still receive N20 million, ensuring that both participants benefit from the spectacle, regardless of the outcome.

The proposed fight is to be held at the KFT Event Center in Warri, Delta State, a popular location known for hosting large entertainment events in South-South Nigeria.
“PORTABLE vs VERYDARKMAN. 2 mouths, 1 ring. Who go survive?” he teased. “Talk no dey finish, sign the dotted line and enter ring if body dey tell una.”
The drama between Portable, real name Habeeb Okikiola, and VeryDarkMan, a well-known social media commentator, began earlier this month after the two started trading insults and accusations online. VeryDarkMan, known for his blunt takes on celebrities and social justice issues, had criticized Portable over his conduct in public and online.
Portable, never one to back down from controversy, responded with a series of videos blasting VeryDarkMan, leading to a bitter online back-and-forth that captured the attention of fans across Nigeria.
With N120 million on the table, one thing is clear: Soso Soberekon’s boxing match proposal has set the entertainment scene buzzing, and all eyes are now on Portable and VeryDarkMan to see if the gloves will officially come off.
