Reality TV star and vocal activist Natasha “Tacha” Akide, has unleashed a scathing response to Delta State Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe following his controversial reply on X amid outrage over alleged sexual assaults during the Ozoro festival.

The drama escalated when Edafe responded to a user demanding accountability for viral videos showing women being stripped, molested, and assaulted under the guise of festival tradition.

His post: “Whenever I issue a statement, it turns you on. Why if I may ask?”, was widely condemned as insensitive and inappropriate, especially in the context of sexual violence allegations.

Tacha condemned Edafe’s response noting that there is something wrong with most of Nigerian men questioning why a PPRO would respond to a citizen in such manner. Her words; “You see what I have been saying, there’s something fundamentally wrong with most of these Nigerian men! Like this is a reply from public relations officer of the Police ooh. These are people we’re expected to report rape cases to?? It is finished.”

In a follow-up thread, Tacha revealed she had been moved to tears by the disturbing footage. She disclosed reaching out to prominent figures including actress Kate Henshaw, Iyabo Ojo, and content creator Real Warri Pikin to mobilize action and organize protests. Declaring “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH,” Tacha questioned why “BEING A WOMAN is a crime in this part of the world.”

She went further, lambasting Nigerian society for entrenched dislike for women, stating that men control “95%” of power yet still seek dominance over women’s bodies.
