Tacha Speaks on Alleged N5m Fraud After Police Arrest

Former Big Brother housemate cum social media influencer, Tacha Akinde, has dismissed the allegation of defrauding a woman of her 5 million naira in Lagos.

It would be recalled that Tacha Akinde was arrested over a week ago for allegedly failing to honour three invitations.

According to media personality Seun Oloketuyi, via his verified account, the reality star was arrested Sunday morning at her residence in Ajah, Lagos.

Oloketuyi claimed that Tacha had allegedly ignored three police invitations issued between May and August, prompting the police to arrest her.

However, speaking about the incident, the reality star disclosed that the controversy started after an X user alleged that she collected N5 million from a woman seeking financial assistance for her husband’s kidney transplant.

According to the Rivers-born media personality, she had never seen or interacted with the woman involved.

“I have never spoken to the woman in question before,” Tacha said. “Somebody just came online and accused me of collecting N5 million from a woman who is seeking financial assistance for her sick husband. Meanwhile, I have never spoken to the woman before.”

The reality star also called out Olajide over his remark about her, describing them as “derogatory”.

Tacha disclosed that the X user had called “Ashawo” and other comments about her character.

She added that the allegations were not true and were only fabricated and gained attention online, which eventually resulted in police involvement.

She said her legal team initially approached the matter as a civil case before it became a criminal investigation.

Tacha maintained that the N5 million fraud allegation was completely false and said she was cooperating with the authorities to clear her name.
