Esther Thomas, popular known as Sunshine, the late content creator has now been laid to rest in Lagos.
Her burial took place weeks after her friends, also creators, posted a call for support on Instagram. They explained they could not keep her in the mortuary much longer and asked actors, creatives, fans, and the public for help.
The pretty creator had passed away on January 11 after facing medical issues that started in December 2025.
At first, her illness was thought to be a severe stomach ache, but it was later diagnosed as a fibroid. Her friend Chidera Madu said Sunshine was first taken to Orchid General Hospital.

Because of a nationwide doctors’ strike, she reportedly only received pain relief and did not get a full diagnosis. She was transferred to another facility on January 2 for better treatment.
The burial rites for the skit maker started at Lagos Island General Hospital in Marina.
Afterward, her remains were taken to Atan Cemetery in Yaba. The procession started at 1pm, and the burial took place at 2pm.
Madu also shared a video showing Sunshine’s body being taken from the morgue, along with undertakers heading to the cemetery.

Another clip showed the content creator’s family arriving at the gravesite for the burial rites.
One video showed a cleric encouraging the family and colleagues to be courageous as they said their final goodbyes to the content creator.
She was known for her skits, modeling, brand partnerships, and video appearances, and had built a growing presence on social media.
