Nigerian movie producer and director, Kayode Peters, who passed away on June 28, 2025, has finally been laid to rest. His burial took place today in Canada, where he had been living in recent years.
The quiet funeral was attended by close family members, friends, and colleagues in the film industry. Many fans and Nollywood actors have continued to share their memories of the filmmaker on social media, describing him as a creative, hardworking, and humble man.
Kayode Peters was well known in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, especially for his work behind the scenes in comedy and drama productions. Over the years, he directed and produced several popular TV series, stage plays, and movies. Some of his best-known works include “My Flatmates”, “Tinsel”, and several stand-up comedy specials. He also worked with top Nigerian comedians like AY, Basketmouth, and Bovi.
Born and raised in Nigeria, Kayode started his career in theatre before moving fully into TV and film. His directing style was known for its humour, fast pace, and ability to bring the best out of actors. He played a big role in helping young talents grow in Nollywood.
