
The 2025 Africa Arts Entertainment Awards (AAEA) has witnessed a remarkable dominance by Nigerian artists, with notable stars like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Asake, Tems, Darkoo, and Ayra Starr taking home multiple awards.
The ceremony, held in Nairobi, recognized outstanding achievements in music across the African continent.
The big winners include Wizkid, who won Best Afro-R&B for his collaboration with US singer Brent Faiyaz on “Piece of My Heart”. Davido took home Best Global Collaboration for his song “Hmm” with American singer Chris Brown.
Asake claimed Best Afro-Native for his hit single “MMS” featuring Wizkid. Darkoo won Best Diasporan Act for her single “Favourite Girl”, which features Rema on the remix.

Burna Boy was named Overall Male Artist in Africa, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the music industry. Tyla won Overall Female Artist of the Year and Best Female Artist, Southern Africa. Tems was named Best Global African Female Artist, following her historic win at the 2025 Grammy Awards for Best African Music Performance for “Love Me JeJe”.
OdumoduBlvck took home Best Rapper in West Africa, while Seyi Vibez emerged as Best Male Artist, West Africa. Ayra Starr won Best Female Artist, West Africa, and made history at the 2025 MOBO Awards as the first African female artist to win Best International Act.
