Popular content creator, TikToker Peller, has taken a swipe at the massive crowd that turned out for Hilda Baci’s latest Guinness World Record feat in Lagos.
Hilda, who is already known for breaking the record for the longest cooking marathon, on Friday, September 12, 2025, successfully set another record after she prepared what has now been confirmed as the largest pot of Nigerian-style jollof rice at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The event pulled a huge number of people who gathered not only to witness the record-breaking attempt but also to get a taste of the jollof rice. Videos from the event showed long queues of Lagos residents, many of them waiting patiently for hours just to collect their portion of the food.
Reacting, Peller said the turnout only showed how difficult life had become for Nigerians. He narrated how one of his close friends left Ikorodu and travelled all the way to Victoria Island just because of the free food at the event.
“That Hilda Baci cooking event made me realise Nigerians are very hungry. One of my friends from Ikorodu came all the way to Eko Hotel just to eat jollof rice. I swear to God, I told him that his life has changed. This is somebody that I used to know how much he loved enjoyment. I don’t know how his life took a turn like that,” he said.
