‘Time to Come Out’ — Man Urges Nigeria’s Cultists to Unite Against Bandits and Kidnappers

Man Urges Nigeria’s Cultists to Unite Against Bandits and Kidnappers

A video currently going viral on social media shows a man wearing a red headwrap sending a distress call to all cult groups across Nigeria to emerge and join forces against bandits and kidnappers terrorising communities.

In the clip, which has since gone viral, the man declares that this is the moment for cultists to set aside rivalries and unite in the fight against insecurity. “This is the time to come out and make all of una join hands to fight the bandits and kidnappers.”

The message comes amid heightened public frustration over rampant kidnapping and banditry, including recent abductions of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State. Many Nigerians have expressed exhaustion with the worsening security situation, and some citizens have openly suggested unconventional solutions.

The video has sparked intense reactions online, with mixed responses ranging from support for any effort against criminals to strong condemnation of mobilising cult groups.

Critics argue that empowering cultists could lead to further violence and lawlessness, while others see it as a desperate cry reflecting loss of faith in formal security structures.

As of now, no official response from security agencies has been reported regarding the viral appeal.
