Tiwa Savage Breaks Down Over Visa Woes, Misses Key Album Shoot and Son’s Birthday Plans

Tiwa Savage, award-winning Nigerian singer, has taken to social media to express deep frustration and emotional distress over delays in retrieving her passport amid ongoing visa complications.

The Afrobeats star shared her ordeal via her Snapchat story, revealing that she is uncertain about the status of her visa application. “I don’t even know whether my visa was approved or not. All I know is that my passport is not out,” she lamented.

Tiwa explained that the situation threatens to derail a major international shoot scheduled to take place in London, a crucial opportunity tied to the rollout of her upcoming album. “I have a huge shoot in London, and if I miss it, I miss so many opportunities surrounding my album and its release date. I feel like crying,” she wrote.

The emotional toll didn’t stop there. The singer, who is also a devoted single mother, disclosed that her carefully planned trip to celebrate her son Jamil’s birthday has also been ruined. “Jamil’s birthday is tomorrow, and the travel plans I had for him are all ruined. My heart is so heavy. I’m just going to switch off today. Praying that God gives life and hope tomorrow,” she added.

This isn’t the first time Tiwa has opened up about the challenges she faces behind the scenes. In a previous post, the singer addressed those who frequently solicit financial help from her. She candidly stated that, despite her fame, she is also struggling to keep up with the harsh realities of Nigeria’s economy. “People always ask me for money like I’m not going through things too. I hustle day and night. I’m a single mother trying to make ends meet,” she had said.

Earlier in the year, Tiwa posted a daring clip of herself swimming underwater with sharks during a vacation, proudly ticking off a bucket list item. The video stirred concern among fans, with many worried for her safety.

In response, the All Over crooner dismissed the fears, stating, “You people are worried about me swimming with sharks. But the music industry is full of people more dangerous than sharks.”

In a more spiritual moment, Tiwa reminded her fans of the source of her strength: “I can never worry when God is the one who watches over me.”
