Tiwa Savage, the popular Nigerian Afrobeat sensation, has officially announced her professional separation from her longtime manager, Mekka Millions.
The announcement was made on Saturday evening via a series of candid posts shared on the singer’s Instagram Story, where she also issued a strong warning to fans, event organisers, and business partners.
In her posts, the multi-award-winning singer made it clear that Mekka Millions no longer represents her interests and should not be contacted for any bookings, negotiations, or professional engagements on her behalf. Tiwa stressed that anyone who proceeds to do business with Mekka in her name does so at their own risk.
“I do not work with Mekka anymore. Please for booking contact Vanessa Amadi. Any bookings that go through any other channel will be void, and you will lose your money,” she wrote emphatically.
This announcement has sent ripples through the entertainment industry, not only because of Mekka’s long-standing role in Tiwa’s camp but also because of the significant influence he wielded during her transition from local stardom to global recognition.
Mekka Millions began managing Tiwa Savage around 2013, shortly after the singer parted ways with her then-husband and former manager, Tunji “Tee Billz” Balogun. At the time, Tiwa was navigating personal and professional transitions, and Mekka stepped in to provide stability, coordination, and direction for her rising career.
Under his watch, Tiwa Savage saw a period of immense growth, with international deals, major performances, and numerous hit songs that helped establish her as one of Africa’s most recognizable female voices. She signed groundbreaking deals with Mavin Records, Roc Nation, and later Universal Music Group, while also gracing global stages like MTV Europe Music Awards, Made in America Festival, and Global Citizen Festival.
Despite a relatively private public profile, Mekka was widely respected behind the scenes in the music business for his loyalty, negotiation skills, and understanding of the ever-evolving Afrobeat landscape.

Following Mekka’s exit, Tiwa Savage announced Vanessa Amadi-Ogbonna as her new manager. Vanessa is no stranger to the industry either. A seasoned UK-based publicist and talent manager, she previously worked with high-profile clients including Estelle, Genevieve Nnaji, and Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child.
Vanessa’s appointment signals a new phase in Tiwa’s career, especially as the singer expands her reach further into Europe and North America. It is widely expected that Vanessa will focus on more brand partnerships, global tour strategies, and media relations to sustain Tiwa’s international momentum.
Though Tiwa did not disclose the reasons for the abrupt split, insiders suggest that differences in strategic direction may have led to the professional disengagement. As is often the case with high-profile separations in the entertainment industry, there has been no official statement from Mekka Millions as of the time of filing this report.
Social media has been buzzing with reactions from fans and industry players, many of whom expressed surprise over the suddenness of the announcement, while others applauded Tiwa’s transparency in publicly clarifying the management change.
