Nigerian Afrobeats star, Tiwa Savage, has opened up on how she got British-Nigerian rapper, Skepta, to feature on her latest single titled “On The Low”.
Speaking during a recent interview, the singer explained that the collaboration happened in a very casual way. She revealed that she sent Skepta a direct message on social media without even stating what she wanted at first.
According to her, she only reached out by greeting him and letting him know she was in London at the time. Skepta then told her he was at the studio. Out of excitement, Tiwa decided to pay him a visit.
She said when she got to the studio, she played the new record for Skepta, and he immediately loved the sound. The rapper later jumped on the song, and that was how the collaboration was sealed.
In her words, “Ladies, I want to say that it does work sometimes when you slide into that DM. I did slide into the DM and I was like, hey, big smoke. I didn’t really tell him up front what I wanted. I was just like, I’m in London. He said he was in the studio, and I went over. I played him the record and he loved it.”
Tiwa also spoke about the music video for the track, saying she really enjoyed shooting it. She encouraged her fans to check it out if they have not already seen it.

The single “On The Low” was officially released on July 30, 2025. Since its release, it has been receiving massive love and positive reactions from fans both in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
The track will also be part of Tiwa Savage’s forthcoming album titled “This One Is Personal”, which is scheduled for release on August 29, 2025.
