
Nigerian actor Bucci Franklin has taken to social media to announce the death of his mother, Joy Odurukwe.
The ”To Kill a Monkey” star had via his verified Instagram page, shared an obituary for his mother with the caption: “Hey Mama,” with a dove emoji.
Franklin did not share the date or cause of her death.
After his announcement, many fans and colleagues left messages of sympathy and support in the comments.
Born Onyebuchi Franklin Odurukwe, he has a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Abuja.

He started his career in media as one of the first on-air personalities at Love FM 104.5 in Abuja, where he co-hosted the Morning Show and led ‘Abuja on The Move’ for five years.

He later moved into acting, first appearing in comedian AY Makun’s 2013 series ‘AY’s Crib’. He gained wider recognition with roles in major Nollywood films like ‘Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story’, ‘The Wait’, and ‘A Weekend to Forget’.
