Nigerian media personality, Toke Makinwa, is counting down to her baby Yari’s first birthday.
She has taken to Instagram to begin the countdown.
In the goofy video seen by eelive.ng on Tuesday, June 23, the entertainment polymath said she wasn’t ready for her daughter to start loving her back. She said her baby gives her hugs now, looks at her like she is the whole world, smiles at her, and pulls her lashes.

The proud mother said she is emotional over her daughter turning one, as she isn’t ready to say goodbye to the baby stage.

Makinwa wrote, “I wasn’t ready for when she started loving me back.
All of the feels in the world.
My baby gives me hugs now,
She looks at me like I am the whole world.”
The media personality went forward to write, “She smiles at me, and it doesn’t matter what sort of day I’ve had,
She loves to pull at my lashes and laugh once I yell from the pain.
The true definition of “there is love at home”.
In conclusion, she wrote, “My baby will be turning 1 soon, and though I look forward to the toddler I get to meet, I am currently so emotional, I don’t want to say goodbye to the baby stage, but you gotta fly, baby,
You gotta fly”.

It would be recalled that Toke Makinwa welcomed her first child, Yakira Eliana in 2025 at the age of 40.
Opening up on breastfeeding, the former OAP said that pap was rubbish as she had been drinking it for 2 weeks and it had caused pressure on her mental health. She said that tea hadn’t done much to improve her supply.
Speaking of motherhood, she had revealed how it transformed her personality. She noted that, throughout this year, she had been indoors due to her pregnancy, which was unlike her, as she is usually an outdoor person.
