The family of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba has postponed her burial indefinitely, citing the need to conclude further arrangements and resolve necessary matters.
The family announced the decision on Wednesday, August 12, through a statement shared on Osoba’s official Instagram page. The actress was initially scheduled to be buried on Thursday, August 13, in Ogun State.
According to the family, the postponement follows the Candlelight and Artists’ Night organised in Osoba’s honour on Tuesday. They explained that the additional time would allow them to complete arrangements before proceeding with the burial.
The family asked friends, colleagues, fans and well-wishers to remain patient and continue supporting them with prayers during the difficult period.

The announcement comes as questions continue to surround the circumstances of Osoba’s death. Earlier, actor Yomi Fabiyi called for an autopsy and a thorough police investigation before the actress is laid to rest. He also urged authorities to halt the planned burial until investigators establish the circumstances surrounding her death.
Osoba’s fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, has also made claims about the circumstances of her death, saying she died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos. His account has added to the public debate, although the claims remain unverified.
The family said it would announce a new burial date and venue once the outstanding matters are resolved.
