Popular celebrity fashion designer, Toyin Lawani, has taken to social media to share what she described as the most traumatic experience of her life.
Lawani, who is well-known for her work as a stylist, expressed disappointment and frustration over what she called selfishness and lack of professionalism from some people she recently worked with.
In a post on Instagram, the designer, who has spent over 25 years in the fashion and styling industry, said she has never witnessed such behaviour before. She explained that she puts passion and hard work into her craft and always strives for perfection, regardless of the pay.

According to her, she prides herself on being humble, gentle, and respectful, but lamented that some individuals in the creative industry deliberately try to sabotage others instead of working together.

She wrote, “I just had the most traumatic experience of my life. I have been working for the past 25 years as a celebrity stylist. I don’t think I’ve come across such selfishness before in my life. I am extra nice, humble and gentle until you poke me. I put in my sweat and hard work in everything I do in my life.
“I’m extremely passionate and I work and strive for perfection and I go far beyond what I’m paid for, but there’s a line between wickedness, ego, and pride. And all these you must leave at the door when working with others to achieve perfect results.
“To everyone who knows me, I’m the most humble, selfless human being you can ever meet and I give everyone respect because that’s how I also want to be treated. It’s so shameful how some creatives try to sabotage each other in the line of their work. Such a big shame.”
