Media personality and hype man, Do2dtun, has strongly criticised the Bauchi State Sharia Commission’s new law restricting DJs, event planners, and other forms of entertainment at weddings.

The law, which aims to curb “immoral celebrations,” bans cultural displays like Kawayawade, Aloba, and gala nights, citing the promotion of indecency as the reason.

Do2dtun took to social media to express his outrage, describing the law as “a complete level of ignorance tied to hopelessness and joblessness.” He further stated that the individuals behind the law are “very very useless.” According to Do2dtun, the law is an overreach and an attempt to stifle creativity and self-expression.

The Bauchi State Hisbah Board claims the move is in response to the rising number of divorces in the state, attributing it to “unholy practices” at weddings. However, Do2dtun disagrees, questioning the effectiveness of the law and labeling those behind it as “backward.” He joins a growing number of online critics who see the law as an infringement on personal freedom, however, here are some reactions to this new law
