Van Vicker Secures First-Class Law Degree from Top Ghana University

Veteran Ghanaian actor Joseph Van Vicker has added another remarkable achievement to his name after graduating with a First Class Honours degree in Law.

The award-winning actor, who is widely recognised for his roles in both Ghanaian and Nollywood films, recently announced that he had successfully completed his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) programme at Wisconsin International University College, Ghana.

Sharing the news on Instagram, the 48-year-old posted photos of himself dressed in his graduation gown as he celebrated the milestone.

Reflecting on the accomplishment, Van Vicker explained that earning a First Class Honours degree represents much more than just academic success.

According to him, it is evidence of dedication, discipline, hard work, and strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.

He wrote: “A First Class Honours in LLB doesn’t automatically make me a better lawyer, but what it does mean is academic excellence, strong discipline and work ethic, analytical and critical-thinking skills, prestige and recognition, and opportunities.”

The actor, however, emphasised that academic achievement alone is not enough to guarantee success in the legal profession.

He noted that qualities such as advocacy skills, emotional intelligence, practical experience, integrity and a commitment to lifelong learning are equally important.

He continued: “Success in the profession depends on advocacy skills, emotional intelligence, practical courtroom or advisory experience, character and integrity, and continuous learning.”

He added: “First Class Honours is proof of academic mastery, not professional mastery. It’s a strong foundation, but becoming a great lawyer requires practice, mentorship, and character.”
