Social media commentator VeryDarkMan has publicly criticised nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chiefpriest over what he described as a change in political stance, sparking renewed debate online about celebrity involvement in Nigerian politics.
The criticism followed Cubana Chiefpriest’s recent post featuring the Governor of Imo State, alongside apparent support for the City Boy Movement, a group aligned with President Bola Tinubu.
In a strongly worded statement, VeryDarkMan questioned how he should relate with Cubana Chiefpriest going forward, accusing him of displaying traits he found troubling.
In his words: ” Cubana Chiefpriest since I saw your post with the Governor of Imo, I need to know how I’ll roll with you from now.
“You’ve shown some trait that isn’t okay with me. Last year, you vowed not to campaign for Tinubu after Nnmadi Kanu was imprison but now you’re flagging for City boy movement.”
He recalled that the socialite had allegedly vowed last year not to campaign for President Tinubu following the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu, only to now be seen promoting the City Boy Movement.
