VeryDarkMan, the popular Nigerian activist has responded to prophecies claiming that he will soon die.

eelive.ng reports that two prophets, one from Nigeria and the other from Ghana, recently released separate revelations about the activist’s alleged death.

In a video shared online, one of the unnamed Nigerian prophets, while speaking to his church members in Yoruba, said, “There are activists in this country whose time is almost up. One of them will be sent to prison, while the other will be killed because they always say they have nothing to lose.”

Although the prophet did not mention any names, the statement closely matched one of VeryDarkMan’s popular phrases, “I have nothing to lose.”

In another video, a Ghanaian prophet addressed the activist directly, saying, “This message is for VDM. Evil politicians have taken you to a river in the spiritual realm. You are dead in the river but still alive physically. It is a very bad sign for your face to be inside a river. Whether you like it or not, you will leave this world suddenly.”

The videos quickly circulated on social media, sparking reactions from supporters and critics of the activist.

Responding in a post on his Instagram page on Sunday, VeryDarkMan, whose real name is not yet publicly confirmed, dismissed the prophecies as unnecessary. He noted that death is certain for everyone and should not be treated as a special revelation about him.

He said, “You heard the pastor. Even though he didn’t call my name directly, he referred to something I always say, that I have nothing to lose. You are seeing visions for me as if I am an important person. I am not important. Death is inevitable; it is coming for all of us. Instead, tell us a vision about our country. Tell us when Nigeria will be a great nation.”

VeryDarkMan, who is known for using his social media platforms to call out corruption and social injustice, further urged religious leaders to focus their visions on Nigeria’s progress rather than predicting individuals’ deaths.
