Ayodeji Richard Makun, comedian/actor/ movie producer has expanded his TV power base with a brand new comedy series, A.Y Makun’s Call To Bar.
The comedy series is based on AY‘s early days of being a bartender at NNPC Junior staff club in Warri Delta State Nigeria.
The series features top Nollywood actors and comedians such as Ik Ogbonna, Williams Uchemba, Linda Osifo, Chi Gurl, Osas Ighodaro, Buchi, Broda Shaggi, and Sexy Steel among others.
A.Y Makun’s Call to Bar is directed by Patrick Ovoke Odjegba.
For quite some time, AY Makun has had a fascination for movie production. His first movie as a producer was 30 Days in Atlanta, a hilarious adventure.
A.Y’s 30 Days in Atlanta broke Nigeria’s box office record as the highest domestic grossing film in 2015. It also made a mention in the Guinness Book of World Records. The film also paraded Nollywood giants like Richard Mofe Damijo, Ramsey Noah and Mercy Johnson.
The outstanding success of the first movie led to more movies produced by the comedian; A Trip to Jamaica (2016), 10 Days in Sun City (2017) and The Merry Man (2018).
There were talks about a Chinese co-production but these talks are yet to come to fruition.
