Veteran Nigerian actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has taken to her Instagram account to inspire her female audience.
The statement was inspired by a post she received about a young girl feeling lost. Omotola said she felt led to speak directly to those who might be struggling with self-worth and direction. Her message was clear, honest, and deeply reassuring.
“Darling, everyone blossoms at different times,” she began. “Although family, society, and culture have framed it when it seems right? It is not always best… and possibly not for you,” she wrote
In a world where social media amplifies pressure and comparison, Omotola reminded young women that feeling “different” isn’t a flaw — it’s a gift. “You think it’s bad because you’re not normal? No. It’s special. You are special,” she said.
She encouraged them to step away from the noise — including social media — and instead focus on what brings peace, hope, and joy. “Start working on yourself… find things that keep you moving and do it. Turn off social media. Even I do, very often,” she added.
At the heart of her message was a spiritual nudge. “If you don’t know Him… my personal advice — seek a personal relationship with Jesus. Try that… I promise, you’ll find joy in your journey.”
Omotola closed her note with quiet optimism: “Your best is yet to come. It might not feel like that now… but soon you’ll look back and smile. You’ll see.”
