Popular Yoruba actor, Tunde Usman, better known as Okele, has jokingly suggested that Nigeria should start “signing” foreign Presidents to solve the country’s problems.
The comic actor made the remark while reacting to the rising cost of living, especially the recent increase in cooking gas prices across the country.
In a trending video shared on his Instagram page, Okele compared Nigeria’s situation to football clubs that change coaches when performance drops.
Speaking in Yoruba, he said: “My people in Nigeria and abroad, may God make things easy for us. I was just thinking about the cost of gas, fuel, and how everything is expensive in this country.
“If you watch football, you will notice that every team has a coach, assistant coach, and goalkeeper trainer. When a coach is not performing, the club sacks him and brings in another from another country.

“So, instead of all these endless political campaigns and parties that keep looting our money, why can’t Nigeria sign an ex-President who has done well in another country to come and fix us?
“Many football nations hire foreign coaches. Maybe we too should start signing Presidents like that. If the one we signed is not performing, we sack him and sign another.”
