Nollywood actress Biola Bayo has reacted to a viral video of a woman who was rescued from what neighbours described as a horrifying ordeal in the Mpape area of Maitama Extension, Abuja.
In the video that has surfaced on social media, the woman whose identity is yet to be disclosed is seen chained and locked inside a dark room by her own brother over a business disagreement for two years.
According to reports, the brother falsely labelled her as mentally unstable and chained her inside a dark room to prevent her from claiming her share of the business.
Her discovery came after a man fetching water near the compound heard unusual sounds emanating from a locked room. He promptly alerted residents in the area, who gathered and forced entry into the room, where they found the woman bound in chains inside the darkened space.
She was immediately rescued and taken to a hospital for urgent medical attention. Years of alleged confinement had left her physically incapacitated, as she could no longer walk unaided.

Eyewitness also alleged that the woman’s daughter had gone missing and insinuated that the brother may have been responsible for the child’s disappearance, with claims that the minor could have been used for ritual purposes.
The incident has since sparked widespread outrage, with renewed concerns over domestic abuse and the exploitation of vulnerable individuals under the guise of mental illness being voiced.

Reacting, actress Bayo expressed shock, questioning the wickedness behind such an act.
