Businessman and socialite Obi Iyiegbu, widely known as Obi Cubana has confirmed his appointment as South-East Coordinator of the City Boy Movement following a visit from Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Obi Cubana via his Instagram, revealed that Seyi presented him with an official letter at his home on Monday night.
The political group, aligned with the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) had earlier named him to the role in January 2026, with reports suggesting he will mobilise young people in the region ahead of the 2027 elections.

Obi Cubana said the meeting allowed them to discuss national issues and addressed the mixed reactions trailing his new position.
He argued that progress comes through engagement rather than withdrawal, stressing that the role would not undermine his values or community work.
Describing the President as a “man of commerce”, he pledged inclusivity, respect for differing opinions, and a focus on national development, while thanking supporters and promising to contribute to a more united future for Nigerians.
