Popular Afrobeats singer and rapper, Zlatan Ibile, has shared the story behind his upcoming third studio album titled “Symbol of Hope.”
Speaking in an interview where he was joined by his son, Shiloh, Zlatan said the album was inspired by his journey from a tough background to becoming one of Nigeria’s successful artistes.
According to him, the title “Symbol of Hope” represents his story of resilience, hard work and determination, which helped him move from a life of struggle to fame.

“In those days, I had people I looked up to,” Zlatan said. “I used to see people who came from nothing and made something out of their lives. They used their talent, they hustled, and they became great. Those people gave me hope.

“Now, people also look up to me, including my son here. I have become a symbol of hope for many,” he added.
The rapper also recalled his difficult childhood, saying there were times when his family could hardly afford to eat three meals a day. He said those experiences played a big role in shaping the message and emotions behind the album.
“When I was young, it was hard to eat three times a day. Life was tough. But those moments built me. I had to motivate myself. When others were sleeping, I was working and dreaming of greatness,” he said.
Zlatan revealed that the “Symbol of Hope” album took him two years to make, as he wanted every song to truly reflect his growth, pain, and victories over the years.
