Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) star Saskay has stirred outrage online after sharply criticising the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, for celebrating a political defection amid recent military losses.
In a pointed reply to Matawalle’s post hailing Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal’s switch from the People Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) as a “historic moment,” Saskay condemned the apparent lack of official response to the deaths of Nigerian soldiers and commanders in terrorist attacks.

“No! The death of Nigerian soldiers and military commanders fighting terrorists and your lack of dignity with as little as a statement, marks a historic moment,” she wrote.
“When the revolution starts, we will remember how little you all cared about citizens!” she added.

The exchange highlights growing public frustration over security priorities in Nigeria’s North, where insurgency and banditry persist. Matawalle, a former Zamfara governor now in the Tinubu administration, had described Lawal’s defection as a step toward unity and tackling insecurity under the Renewed Hope agenda.

Saskay’s post stirred lots of criticism from online users and the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ), which also frowned at Matawalle’s focus on politics over addressing recent terror-related military casualties.
